Enabling Single Sign-On (SSO) for Your Jurisdiction
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Let your team log into Holly with the same credentials they already use for email and other work systems — no separate password required.
What is Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Single Sign-On (SSO) lets your employees log into Holly using their existing organizational credentials — the same username and password they use for email, calendar, and other work systems — instead of a separate, Holly-specific password.
For most government agencies, this isn't just a convenience. It's a security and administration win. Every additional password is another thing your IT team has to manage, another target for phishing, and another support ticket waiting to happen when someone forgets it. SSO removes that overhead by routing login through your agency's existing identity provider, so access to Holly follows the same rules, protections, and account lifecycle your IT department already has in place.
Once SSO is enabled for your jurisdiction, users simply sign in with their regular work credentials. There's nothing new to remember, and no separate Holly password to reset, expire, or lose track of.
How to Request SSO
SSO is enabled on a per-jurisdiction basis by Holly's team, in coordination with your IT or identity administrator. To get started:
Fill out the Holly SSO Request Form and provide the requested details about your jurisdiction and identity provider (for example, Google Workspace, Microsoft/Azure AD, or Okta).
Submit the form! Holly's team will follow up with your IT contact to complete setup and confirm once SSO is live for your jurisdiction.
Understanding How SSO Works in Holly
Once SSO is active for your jurisdiction, logging into Holly looks a little different:
Regular credentials — Users enter the same username and password they use for email and other work tools, instead of a Holly-specific password.
No separate Holly password — There's no additional password to create, remember, or reset for Holly itself.
IT-managed access — Account status in Holly follows your organization's central identity system. If IT disables or updates an account there, it's reflected in Holly automatically.

Coordinating Changes with IT
Because SSO connects Holly to your organization's identity provider, any changes to that connection (such as updating configuration or rotating credentials on the identity provider side) should go through your IT team. Reach out to Holly support at support@hollygov.com if you need to make changes after initial setup.
