What Is the History Tab?
Every time a specification moves through a stage — from draft to review, from review to published — Holly creates a record of it. The History tab is where all of those records live. It gives you a full audit trail of a specification's lifecycle, organized from most recent to oldest.
The page has two sections: History, which tracks the spec's version history, and Sources, which shows the documents Holly used when the spec was originally imported or benchmarked.
What You See
Each row in the History tab represents a version of the specification at a particular stage. The table includes the following columns:
Status — The stage the spec was in when this version was recorded (see status definitions below).
Created — The date this version entry was first created.
Last edited — The date this version was most recently modified.
Edited by — The user who last made changes to this version.
Download — A button to download that version of the spec.
Entries are sorted with the most recent at the top.
Status definitions
Status | What it means |
Draft | A version that was in progress and not yet submitted for review. |
In Review | A version that was submitted through an approval workflow and sent to reviewers. |
Published | The approved, finalized version of the spec. |
Imported | A version that was brought into Holly from an external source. |
Archived | A version that was archived, typically prior to a major revision. |
Merge History
If a specification was created by merging two or more existing specs, the History tab will indicate this with a Merged from note, listing the source specifications. Conversely, if a spec was merged into another, you'll see a Merged into note. This helps you trace the lineage of any classification that went through a consolidation.
Downloading Versions
Click the Download button next to any version to access that document. You can download any published version or your current draft.
To download a version of the spec that shows exactly what changed between two consecutive versions (additions highlighted, deletions struck through) click the Download button and select "Include redlines" at the top of the popup.
You can also include your logo, comments and suggestions, and/or approvals by toggling them on or off.
Sources
The Sources section shows the documents and data associated with this specification. It tells you what Holly has on file for this classification and when external data was last refreshed.
Each row corresponds to a different document type:
Spec — The source specification document. If a source file is available, a View link lets you open it directly.
Salary — The salary schedule document associated with this classification, if one was imported.
Contract — The MOU or labor contract linked to this classification, if one was imported.
Market salary data — Shows the last time Holly's market benchmarking data was refreshed for this spec, displayed as a Synced date. This reflects when a comparator refresh was last run, meaning the match counts and market comparisons on the Market tab are current as of that date.
If a document type shows a dash (—), no source file has been uploaded or linked for that classification yet.
